Today 23rd July at Fish Hoek School

Once again I have been lucky enough to have been invited to the Senior Citizens Project run by Fiona Beal. Her project which she entered into a competition has been most successful. She won a very smart laptop(of which I am most envious)and is now part of the finals to be held in Maritious in September(how lucky) but I have learnt that it's not just luck,it is a huge amount of work and dedication.Good Luck Mrs Beal.
I am feeling embarassed that I have not put more into what I have learned from the class and my granddaughter.Gail I am going home today to Blog no more excuses that I am to busy.
Thanks everyone for you help and friendship in class and of course to Mrs Beagley and her class for the wonderful eats at tea.

Fish Hoek School Senior Citizens Project

There are certainly good things about being a senior citizen. One good thing is that when we start being left behind in this technical world our grandchildren who find computers and the like second nature can keep us up to date. Fish Hoek School has started such a project to help grandparents find their way around the computer and learn how to "blog".I have been to three lessons and unfortunately missed one but feel I have achieved.I had heard about "blogs" but I certainly knew nothing about "blogging" and here I am writing my own "blog".
The classes have been fun and although I come a long way for my lesson and it takes at least one and a half hours in morning traffic it is such a pleasur to see my granddaughter's joy when I arrive. We are spoiled with tea, biscuits and cookies made by the children in Mrs Beagley's class when we arrive, something I look forward to after all the travelling.I have been pleased to meet other grandmothers and grandfathers all happy to be learning something new and to share special time with their grandchildren. I have to thank Mrs Beal for thinking up the idea of this unique project having the opportunity to share school time with our grandchildren and at the same time keeping our minds active.I have also to thank Gail my granddaughter for her love and patience in teaching her Gran.

Blog Lessons at Fish Hoek Primary School

I am a very lucky grandmother who has been given the opportunity to learn to blog. My granddaughter Gaiwhe is at my side helping me if I go wrong, should we both have a problem a helpful teacher is at hand to show us the way. I have come from Paarl which is about 8O plus kilometers away so that means I am very keen to learn. I am not the only grandparent learning there are about 27 grandmothers and grandfathers attending. I have attended three lessons unfortunately I was unable to attend one. Each time we arrive we have been given wonderful morning tea with biscuits and cakes made by the grade 4 and 5 class of Mrs Beagley.I feel I have learned a great deal today and look forward to my next lesson. Thanks Gail.
